  1. Franklin and his label Wool Recordings are one of the most active e-mailers on my inbox. Despite that, I don’t post everything I receive since it’s too much information to deal with (not because I don’t like it, once they’re usually jolly). “Magic”, from his debut album “Every now and then” pleased the marketing team from the also French griffe Chanel and was chosen for a web campaign. I doubt sincerely I’ll have one day money enough to buy one of these, but you know, women and jewels is a never ending love. In addition to that, these pieces seem more appropriate to a head of state or a princess. Those people probably don’t watch these kind of publicity on the internet, but anyway…

  2. The track streamed above’s named “end of a computer”, which seems to be the state of mine soon, unfortunately. It’s part II from a series Franklin, the boy with the bycicle, from whom we’ve talked about before. Then why is the second presented first? Because I can only stream one track once. Anyway, “birth of a computer” is right below, combining joyful “ah-ah” vocals with Orient-like retro synths, some discrete native tambour, in childlike innocent and playful mix, not exactly the “indie/folk/rock” Franklin we’re used to. To be honest, these two ringed on my ears, the instrumentals are always cute. Wishing everyone a nice week(end), Wool presented us with a marvellous pack of free songs from the artist. If Oslo in August is as lovely as it sounds, then I should go there some day.

  3. Must say that if it weren’t people on Wool Recordings I wouldn’t be aware of the fact that Montpellier’s Franck Rabeyrolles, who’s now investing on a parallel project as Franklin, had these songs to share. The two below (on streaming) are taken from his forthcoming album “Artificial Light” (hoped for next September). “town biking” couldn’t be posted, but can be easily acessed here. It was made especially for a short movie concerning a bike ride on Stockholm directed by UP Parisian Agency.

The thing I loved the most on both tracks (best noticeable on “town biking”) is the almost equal but still balanced integration of folk and electronica, which comes into a comforting essence.

Franklin recently released a worth-checking EP with a remix of “I Know” by Com Truise on his best style. Obviously, it’s “I Know” 7”.
